The Bardex Lubricath Foley Catheter is a 3-way catheter with a 5 cc balloon and hydrogel coating. A 3-way Foley has three separate channels. One channel drains urine, one channel inflates the balloon, and the third channel allows fluid to pass through the catheter for irrigation. The hydrogel coating creates a smoother catheter surface once hydrated. This helps support easier insertion and may help reduce friction compared to an uncoated latex catheter. The 5 cc balloon helps hold the catheter in place after insertion.
